One of the best things about staying in Kato Paphos is how easy it is to get around. The harbour, archaeological sites, restaurants and beaches are all within walking distance of the apartment. But when you want to explore further — Coral Bay, the Akamas Peninsula or even Limassol — you have plenty of options. Here's everything you need to know about transport in Paphos.

The nearest bus stops to the apartment are on Apostolou Pavlou Avenue and Poseidonos Avenue, both within a 3-minute walk.

Check AvailabilityCar Rental — Freedom to Explore
If you plan to explore beyond Paphos — the Akamas Peninsula, Troodos Mountains or other cities — renting a car is the way to go. Several agencies are located on Poseidonos Avenue, just minutes from the apartment.
What to expect:
- Daily rates: €25-40 for a small car (Fiat 500, Toyota Yaris), €45-70 for an SUV. Prices drop significantly for weekly rentals.
- Insurance: Basic insurance is included, but consider full CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) for about €8-12/day extra. It's worth the peace of mind on rural mountain roads.
- Fuel: Petrol stations are plentiful. Expect around €1.30-1.50/litre.
- Minimum age: Usually 21 with at least 1 year of driving experience. Some agencies require 25 for larger vehicles.
Free parking at the apartment: One major advantage of staying at Lovely Ap is the complimentary private parking space right at the building. In Kato Paphos, where parking can be tricky during summer months, this is a genuine benefit. No circling blocks, no parking fees, no stress.
Bike Rental — Explore at Your Own Pace
Cycling is becoming increasingly popular in Paphos, especially with the growing number of e-bike rental options. The coastal road is flat and pleasant, making it ideal for two-wheeled exploration.
- Regular bikes: Available from shops near the harbour area, from around €8-12/day.
- E-bikes: Increasingly popular, from around €25-35/day. They make the hills towards upper Paphos and Coral Bay much more manageable.
- Best routes: The coastal path from the harbour to Coral Bay is mostly flat and scenic. For something more adventurous, the tracks around the Moutallos area offer views over the whole bay.
Day Trips by Car from Paphos
With a rental car, the entire island opens up. Here are the most popular day trips with approximate driving times from the apartment:
- Coral Bay & Sea Caves — 20 minutes. The closest beach resort area, with golden sand and crystal-clear water. The sea caves at Peyia are photogenic and free.
- Akamas Peninsula & Blue Lagoon — 45 minutes to Latchi. Take a boat from Latchi harbour to the Blue Lagoon, or hike the Aphrodite Trail through wild Mediterranean landscape.
- Troodos Mountains — 1.5 hours. Painted Byzantine churches (UNESCO), cedar forests, wine villages. Mount Olympus (1,952m) offers cool relief in summer and even snow in winter.
- Limassol — 1 hour via the A6 motorway. Cyprus's second city with a beautiful old town, marina, and excellent shopping. The Limassol Castle and old market are worth exploring.
- Nicosia — 2.5 hours. The world's last divided capital. Cross the Green Line on foot, visit the Leventis Museum, explore the old city within the Venetian walls. A full day adventure.
- Larnaca & Salt Lake — 1.5 hours. Famous for its flamingos (November-March), the Hala Sultan Tekke mosque and the Finikoudes promenade.
